Sapphire Satale, MIT student

Why did you choose a career in health?
I’ve found that giving forward is the best way to go. There’s always going to be a need for nurses and what better way to help our Pacific people.
What do you hope to achieve with a career in health?
I want to be able to promote community health and have more wellness clinics to improve the health literacy of our people.

What advice would you give to someone looking to come and study?
If making a difference to another persons life, or making a difference in the community is something you want to achieve, then a career in health is a career for you.
What keeps you motivated?
Our people need us, we need to create more awareness for our Maori and Pasifika people. The more health promotion initiatives we can provide the more we can support our people.
